金で命を買うということ
難病で生まれた子供を救うためにはアメリカで臓器移植するしかない。
移植に必要な１億円を募金で集め、加藤友朗医師のいるジャクソン記念病院へ。
頭部に外傷を負った赤ちゃんがERに運び込まれ、脳死と判定された。
両親は臓器提供に同意し、すぐさま臓器が取り出される。
８回にもわたる移植手術は成功し、１歳の誕生日を迎えることができた。
昔アラブの富豪が臓器移植の順番を金で買った事件があり、臓器を公平に分配するためＵＮＯＳ（全米臓器配分機関）が作られた。
入力されたデータからコンピューターが順番を決定するしくみ。
ところが買収された医者が、患者の有利になるようにデータを申告した事件がおきてしまった。
なかなか公平というわけにはいかないようだ。
そしてまた１人、日本から募金で手術費用を集めた子供が臓器移植を受けにやってきた。
コロンビアからも１人来ていたけど、どうやって手術費用を集めたんだろう。
やっぱり麻薬だろうか、それともコーヒー農場か、エメラルドか。
いずれにしてもコロンビアで手術費用をかき集めるのはきれい事ではない。
それは日本やアメリカでも同じで、お金が無くて治療を受けられずに死んでいく人はたくさんいる。
臓器移植を受けられるのは、高額な治療費を用意できたほんの一握りの人間だけだ。
臓器移植自体が金で命を買うことなのに、なぜ金で移植の順番を買うことがいけないのか。
自分にはよく分からない。
